September 15th 2012. The day both Amy and Declan moved to London and started uni at Queen Mary University of London, moving into campus halls.

September 16th 2012, the second day of freshers, where Amy and Declan met for the first time in a flat party in Varey House. Between then and finishing university, Amy and Declan were a pair of acquaintances, passing ships, and the timings of something to happen between was never quite right whilst at University, but there was a foundation of an attraction towards each other, a wick waiting for a spark.

The post University student union (Drapers forever) equivalent east end haunt was a venue called Motherbar. On January 21st 2017 a single Declan went out to Motherbar with some school friends and ran into a mutual friend Genna King who was also hitting up the club with a newly single Amy, and suddenly the stars aligned. Declan and Amy were both single at the same time for the first time. The candle was lit. Shortly after this re-meeting they went on their first date to a piano bar in Kings Cross and they talked the night away. From there the dates kept flowing, where the initial attraction snowballed into a relationship with Amy and Declan making it official on April 9th 2017. The relationship became serious very quickly as Declan dropped the L bomb first on June 4th 2017, but the love was requited as Amy said it back. Boyfriend and Girlfriend in love.

2017 was the year of firsts, meeting each others parents and friends, birthdays together, etc, however it was in June 2018 where Amy and Declan went on their first holiday together to the Amalfi coast, spending the majority of their time on the island of Capri. Here Declan made a promise to himself that he would propose to Amy at a specific vantage point in Anacapri that looked back across the beautiful island.

In October 2019 Amy and Declan moved in together in Hackney Wick. After 6 months of living together, in April 2020 they took the plunge and purchased their first child…Lola the cat. In December 2021 they doubled down on the felines and Amy bought Declan a cat for his birthday…introducing Dwight!

The love affair with Hackney Wick continued where Amy and Declan bought their first house together in January 2022. A doer-upper and a labour of love that they poured their heart and souls into to make it a home, for them now and for the family they hope that comes. Amy and Declan returned to the Amalfi coast in April 2023. On April 23rd 2023 back on the island of Capri, at the same vantage point, Declan proposed to Amy. Luckily for Declan Amy said yes, and their future was set, Husband and Wife to be.

Amy’s love affair with Italy originated back in the summer of 2009, where she alongside her family attended her cousin Michelle and Ben’s wedding in Tuscany. For that trip Amy with her family stayed in Norcenni campsite, where they loved it so much they come back on holiday there in 2010 and again in 2011. During the 2011 trip Amy enquired about working at the campsite for the 2012 summer, after completing her A levels. Amy worked at the Tuscan campsite in the summers of 2012, 2013 and 2014, and her dreams of a Tuscan wedding for herself in the future was set.

Amy and Declan will be getting married at Palagina on June 26th 2025, a stone throw away from that Norcenni campsite. The next step in their journey. They are so excited for you to join them for this special occasion.
